WaterTime is a hydration reminder for iPhone and iPad. This policy explains what the app stores, what leaves your device, and the choices you have.
Information the app uses
Hydration log and preferences
The app stores the water amounts and times you enter, plus your settings: daily goal, millilitres or fluid ounces, reminder interval, and whether you have finished setup. This information is saved on your device.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, WaterTime schedules local reminders on your device. You can turn reminders off in the app or in iOS Settings.
iCloud
When you are signed in to iCloud, intakes and preferences sync through your private iCloud database. The app can also refresh that sync in the background and receive a CloudKit notice when data changes on another device. Apple stores that iCloud data under your Apple ID. You can use WaterTime without iCloud sync.
Advertising
The app shows ads through Google. Where required, Google’s consent form asks how you want ads personalised before an ad is shown. Google may process advertising identifiers and ad interactions under its own policies.
Analytics
The app uses Firebase Analytics. It can collect usage and diagnostic information, such as app launches and crashes, to understand how WaterTime is used and to fix problems.
How this information is used
- To show your daily progress, history, and reminders
- To keep your log available on devices signed in to the same iCloud account
- To show ads, with the consent choice Google presents
- To understand reliability and general use of the app
Where it is stored
Your water log and preferences live on your device. If iCloud sync is available, a copy also lives in your private iCloud database. WaterTime does not run its own server for your water log.
Who else processes it
WaterTime does not sell your water log. The services below process data so the app can work:
- Apple, for iCloud and local notifications
- Google, for ads and the advertising consent form
- Google Firebase, for analytics and diagnostics
Your choices
- Delete intakes, or all intake data, inside the app
- Turn reminders off in Settings
- Use the app without relying on iCloud, or manage iCloud in iOS Settings
- Respond to the advertising consent form
Security
Data on your device and in iCloud is protected by iOS and your Apple ID. No method of storage is perfect, and WaterTime cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
